Dear Toller friends!

We’re happy to announce the startup of a special breeding club for the Toller in Germany.

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club Deutschland e.V. (TCD e.V.)

We are a member of VDH, FCI and associated with the World Canine Organisation.

Our goal is:

• To improve the Toller’s overall health and breed characteristics.
• To preserve and stabilize the Toller’s pedigree, character, retrieving skills as well as additional breed specific characteristics such as constitution and perfect appearance.
• To breed a powerful strain, well-suited as a family-companion and retrieving dog by following up-to-date knowledge in cynology.

The foundation for this development:

• is our science-based, modern and breed-specific breeding approach. (Regulations of this breeding rule concerning health and breed development have been worked out in collaboration with veterinarians.)
• Fight diseases and promote the positive predispositions and qualities of the breed.
• Collect and analyse data concerning the Toller´s health (in collaboration with veterinarians and universities of veterinary medicine)
• Organising information and retraining workshops about cynology (scientific presentations, breeder seminars, etc.)
• Organising exhibitions and fitness tests for breeding
• Education seminars, training offers and testing in the following fields:
  • General tests for companion dogs, track dogs and endurance tests (in collaboration with “Deutscher Hundesportverband e.V.”)
  • For Retrievers: dummy-test
  • For Tollers: tolling-test

From the year 2009, we will organize the mentioned events – of course all Toller friends from Germany and around the world are welcome! We are looking forward to meet you and your Toller!
The TCD-Toller-Festival will take place from 29.-30. August 2009 in Nidda / Hessen. Our big Toller-Show will take place on Saturday – we expect the highest number of participants ever in Germany! On Sundays there will be many different workshops and training-seminars.

On both days conversation und get-togethers will be just as important.

Furthermore we will organize the first Tolling-seminar and first Tolling-Test in Germany next year! Judge & seminar-leader: Finn Lange (Kennel „Huntmaster“, DK)
